Tara’s positive birth story

I had moved to the area when I was 6 months pregnant and wanted to get back into gentle exercise after a few weeks break prior to the move. Pregnancy yoga seemed like the perfect blend of gentle movement, mental relaxation, stretching and meeting other local mums to be. 

Lianna’s classes gave me that time to myself during a busy period and I enjoyed seeing what my body could do as my bump grew - I never expected to be doing yoga a couple of days before the due date! I learnt what was safe and was able to do some of the movements / exercises at home to improve my pelvic girdle pain (PGP).

When it came to the birth, the breath work we learnt helped in calming me and working through each contraction. Although my labour was quite long, and didn’t go as I had hoped (ending in an unplanned c-section), I knew that I had done all that I could to prepare my body and mind for labour.

Lianna was such a calming and brilliant teacher, making each session special and tailoring exercises to your stage of pregnancy and ability. I miss my weekly sessions and met some wonderful mothers at the classes. I’d recommend pregnancy yoga with Lianna to anyone at any stage of pregnancy!
