  • Complete a health questionnaire or registration form.

  • Sign up to a mailing list or request updates.

3. How and why I use your information

I only use your personal information when I have a lawful basis to do so.

I use your information to:

Provide classes and services you request, manage bookings, take attendance and send practical information (legal basis: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request).

Keep appropriate records for insurance and tax purposes (legal basis: legal obligations and my legitimate interests in running my business).

Adapt sessions to your circumstances, support your wellbeing in class, and manage health and safety (legal basis: your explicit consent for health/pregnancy information, and my legitimate interests in providing safe services).

Respond to enquiries and general questions (legal basis: legitimate interests).

Send occasional updates about classes, workshops or offerings, where you have asked to receive them or where permitted as a previous client (legal basis: consent or legitimate interests; you can opt out at any time).

You are not obliged to share health or pregnancy information with me, but if you choose not to, I may not be able to safely offer certain practices or classes.

4. Special category (health and pregnancy) information

Information about your health and pregnancy is considered “special category” data.

I will only collect and use this information where it is relevant to the services I provide and with your explicit consent (for example, when you complete a health questionnaire or discuss your circumstances with me before a class).

I keep this information confidential and only share it where necessary for:

  • Your safety and wellbeing in class.

  • Meeting my professional obligations (for example, with my insurer or a medical professional in an emergency).

You can withdraw your consent at any time, but this may mean I cannot continue to work with you where I cannot offer a safe service without that information.

5. Who I share your information with

I do not sell your personal information. I may share it with:

Booking and scheduling provider: I use Setmore to manage class and session bookings. Your booking details are processed within their system so that I can schedule and administer your appointments. Please also see Setmore’s own privacy policy for how they handle your data.

Email and communication tools: if I use an email marketing or mailing‑list tool (for example, MailerLite, Mailchimp, etc.), your name and email address may be stored there to send you updates you have requested.

Website hosting and IT providers: who help me operate my website and keep it secure.

Professional advisers and insurers: where necessary for accounts, legal advice or insurance matters.

Authorities: where I am legally required to do so, for example to comply with a court order or to protect someone’s vital interests.

All such providers are required to keep your information secure and to use it only in accordance with my instructions and applicable law, or as independent controllers in their own right where that applies.

6. International transfers

Some of my service providers (for example, booking or email systems) may store or access your information outside the UK.

Where this happens, I aim to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as using providers in countries with adequacy regulations, or using standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections.

7. How long I keep your information

I keep your personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, including to meet legal, accounting or insurance requirements.

In general:

Booking and attendance records are kept for up to 21 years after your last class or session, to comply with insurance and tax requirements.

Health and pregnancy information is kept for as long as you are an active client and for up to 21 years afterwards, in line with my insurer’s guidance.

Enquiry emails are normally kept for up to 12 months

Mailing‑list data is kept until you unsubscribe or I stop sending such communications.

I may keep anonymised information (that does not identify you) for longer.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

My website and/or booking system may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Make the site and booking pages work properly.

  • Understand how visitors use the site (for example, basic analytics).

Where cookies are not strictly necessary for the operation of the site or booking system, I will ask for your consent before setting them, and you can change your cookie preferences at any time via the ‘Manage cookies’ link in the cookies banner at the footer of my website.

For more details, please see my Cookies policy and the cookie information provided by Setmore.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have rights in relation to your personal information, including to:

  • Access a copy of the personal information I hold about you.

  • Ask me to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Ask me to delete your information in certain circumstances.

  • Object to or restrict how I use your information in some situations.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact me using the details above.

10. Children

My services are primarily intended for adults. Where I work with younger people (for example, teens), I may need consent or involvement from a parent or guardian, and I will only collect the minimum personal information necessary to provide the service safely.

11. Changes to this policy

I may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example, to reflect changes in services or the law.

The latest version will always be available on my website and will show the date it was last updated.
