Hollie’s positive birth story

I joined pregnancy yoga as a way to gently exercise, prepare my body for birth and practice breathing to aid my labour.

One of the best bits of pregnancy yoga was having an hour of quiet, peaceful calm and relaxation in my quite hectic life - gifting myself some “me” time before the chaos of 3 children commenced!

My labour was intense and really quick - I didn’t have time to use the stretches and physical movements we had practiced as there was no “early labour”...but my waters had broken that evening after class whilst putting my children to bed! As soon as contractions started the breathing techniques were vital to maintain control with the speed of how quickly it progressed and the affirmations we had created on the yoga retreat were firmly in my head on repeat during it all!
